6TH NATIONAL WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP " MAHARASHTRA BAG MEN'S TITLE, PUNJAB RUNNERS UP & TAMILNADU THIRD

The 6th National Wheelchair Basketball Championship concluded here today with Maharashtra bagging the top honours in both the Men's and Women's categories. Punjab emerged runners up and Tamilnadu third in Men's category while in Women's category Tamilnadu bagged second and Karnataka third position.The 6 day championship was organized at the Multipurpose stadium in Sector-78 here by the Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India with the assistance of the Sports Department, Punjab. During the concluding day today, the Union Sports Minister Mr. Kiren Rijiju graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave away the prizes.

SUKHDEV SINGH DHINDSA BECOMES LIFE PRESIDENT OF PUNJAB OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION

The President of the Punjab Olympic Association (POA) Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa today voluntarily resigned from his office after which the Vice President Mr. Brahm Mohindra was nominated as the Working President till the elections to the association are held.In the Executive Meeting and Annual General House of the POA here today at the Punjab Olympic Bhawan, the services of Mr. Dhindsa as President for 41 years were applauded and it was unanimously decided to make him the Life President of POA in order to enable him to keep guiding the association
