The Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Charanjit Singh Atwal today met Prominent poet, NRI and literatteur Surjit Singh Madhopuri. During this courtesy call Surjit Singh Madhopuri, decorated with one of the most prestigious 'Star of Courage' award by Government of Canada, said that though based in Canada , his heart yearns for the soil of Punjab. He also told the speaker about Canadian scholarship trust plan, of which he is the manager and said that this institution helps Punjabi students attain their goal of higher education and provides them expert guidance and financial help. He informed that the institution also provides every help possible to the students to find suitable avenues of employment. The speaker presented a shawl to Surjit Singh Madhopuri and his wife.
