CAPT AMARINDER CONGRATULATES RANDHIR SINGH ON BECOMING CHAIRMAN COORDINATION COMMITTEE FOR 2022 ASIAN GAMES

 Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has congratulated Olympian Raja Randhir Singh on being appointed as Chairman Coordination Committee for forthcoming Asian Games 2022, by the Olympic Council of Asia.

A spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said that Captain Amarinder Singh, while welcoming the decision of Olympic Council of Asia meeting held at Bangkok yesterday, expressed the confidence that the world-class shooter would do exceedingly well in his new role at the Hangzhou Games in China as well.

Describing Randhir as a top-class sports player and veteran administrator, Captain Amarinder Singh said this honour was yet another feather in his cap.

Raja Randhir, a 1979 Arjuna Awardee, was the Founder Secretary General of the Afro-Asian Games Council (1998–2007), and helped lead the organization of the only Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad in 2003. He has also served as Secretary General of the Indian Olympic Association and was on the Board of the International Olympic Committee from 2001-2014.
