For Usha Uthup, ‘Gane Gane Pe Likha Hota Hai Gaane Wale Ka Naam’

This weekend is going to be a musical one with the presence of the charismatic and popular Indi-Pop, jazz and playback singer Usha Uthup and Indian Bollywood playback singer Sudesh Bhosle on the sets of Sony Entertainment Television’s The Kapil Sharma Show. Their presence will enlighten the viewers where, they will be seen talking to Kapil Sharma about their glorious musical years spent in the industry followed by making the audience groove to some of their famous and iconic songs. While talking about Bollywood singers, Usha Uthup revealed some unknown facts about the Late Indian music director RD Burman Sir and Asha Bhosle with regard to the song, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ the 1971 classic, Hare Rama Hare Krishna. 

Usha said, “It was decided that the song, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ will be a duet song sung by Asha Bhosle Ji and me. We both spent a lot of time rehearsing for the final recording. But, during the day of recording, I wasn’t called in so, I ended up calling RD Burman Ji to confirm the schedule for the recording of the final song. To this, he replied back saying that the song will be sung by Asha Bhosle and it kind of upset me but, I was definitely not angry as I believe, ‘Gane Gane Pe likha hai Gane wale ka naam’. She further added, “Later, I got the opportunity to sing the iconic song, ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna' along with Ashaji.” 

Further in the show, versatile singer Usha who completed 50 years of singing and has sung songs in around 8 foreign languages and 17 Indian languages mentioned they had a gala time sharing the screen space with Kapil Sharma on The Kapil Sharma Show. Usha Uttup confessing her love for iconic bindis and bangles revealed that she has a set of around 20,000 bindis and 40,000 bangles. During her presence in the show, she was wearing another iconic bindi with the letter ‘K’ in it to define her love for Kapil Sharma. Kapil got extremely overwhelmed seeing this.
