The senior Congress leaders with the inclusion of 2 Cabinet Ministers and 8 MLAs have castigated BJP leader and MP Subramaniam Swamy for the latter's statement advocating halting of Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor work. The Congress leader has said that the statement has hurt the Sikh sentiments especially of the 'Nanak Naam Leva Sangat' who has been praying for the opening of the corridor.

Meanwhile Sukhpal Singh Khaira Bholath MLA and president of Punjab Ekta Party(PEP) today said that statement given by BJP MP Subramanian Swamy at Chandigarh, seeking to scrap Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor is part of deep rooted conspiracy of BJP and its alliance partner ShiromaniAkali Dal (SAD) against Sikh community.

In the meantime taking the SAD-BJP alliance to task in a joint press communique, S. Randhawa and Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu besides MLAs Mr. Harpratap Singh Ajnala, Mr. Kuljit Singh Nagra, Mr. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Mr. Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, Mr. Barindermeet Singh Pahra, Mr. Kulbir Singh Zira, Mr. Balwinder Singh Laadi and Mr. Santokh Singh Bhalaipur said that the Akalis who have been masquerading as the sole custodians of the Sikhs, must come clean on the issue and spell out their stand that how would they react to a senior leader of the party with which they so loudly profess to have immensely close relationship, openly and so brazenly opposing Sri Kartarpur Corridor.

They also said that the entire Punjab especially Sikh circle only know it too well that the Badal family loves to cling to power rather than working for Sikh interests. The Congress leaders further added that the silence of the SAD on various issues from GST on Gurudwaras earlier and now opposition to Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor proves that SAD is hand in glove with BJP in this sin.

The Congress leaders further said that it was part of a deep rooted conspiracy that Subramaniam Swamy gave this statement in Chandigarh. Now, with the statement the cat has come out of the bag and the Punjab BJP leadership must also clarify their position as to whether they are in agreement with the statement of Subramaniam Swamy or not. They also said that the Sikh Panth would never forgive SAD-BJP for creating obstacles in fulfilling the long cherished wish of the Sikh Panth.

SUKHPAL KHAIRA WARNS BJP AND SAD AGAINST CONSPIRACY TO SCRAP KARTARPUR SAHIB CORRIDOR: Sukhpal Singh Khaira Bholath MLA and president of Punjab Ekta Party(PEP) today said that statement given by BJP MP Subramanian Swamy at Chandigarh, seeking to scrap Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor is part of deep rooted conspiracy of BJP and its alliance partner ShiromaniAkali Dal(SAD) against Sikh community.

In a statement issued here Khaira said that neither Punjab BJP and nor SAD president Sukjbir Singh Badal had clarified their stand on the statement made by Subramanian Swamy. He demanded a clarification on the issue from Prime Minister NarenderModi, state BJP president Shwait Malik and Sukhbir Singh Badal. He apprehended that the Badal family had literally pledged and surrendered the interests of Punjab and Sikhs before the BJP merely to ensure the continuance of HarsimratKaur Badal as a Cabinet Minister.

Rupinder Rubi
PEP president said that BJP has virtually taken people of Kashmir as hostages curbing the democratic and human rights of people. He stated that SAD which won several elections in Punjab on the issue of strong federal structure and more rights to states has bowed down before the BJP leadership due to vast business interests of Badal family. He said that after Kashmir BJP may target Punjab to implement its sinister designs of pushing minority communities to the wall. He also alleged that floods in Punjab were also a sabotage on which he would present facts later.

Khaira said that BJP has already shown its inclination to deprive Punjab of its river waters and turn the tables in favour of Haryana where BJP would be contesting assembly election in alliance with SAD later this year. He said that in the given situation, SAD has no guts to oppose the move.

Khaira said that statement of Subramanian Swamy shall not be seen in isolation. The BJP government at center is continuously creating hostile atmosphere to justify its action of scrapping article 370 in Kashmir. He said that the since of BJP high command and SAD leaders on fate of Kartarpur Sahib corridor is suspicious. He warned the BJP and SAD leaders against any attempt to scrap the Kartarpur Sahib corridor. He said that Sikh community had struggle for seven decades to get excess to historic shrine of Baba GururNankDevji and any mischief to jeopardize it would have strong backlash.

Khaira said that the Pakistan government had almost completed more than 90 percent of Kartarpur Sahib corridor work on their territory while the work by the central government on our side is at very slow pace. He said that followers of Guru Nanak Devjis are waiting for the historic moment of 550th ParkashUtsav of their Guru with utmost patience and devotion. He urged the BJP president Amit Shah and Prime Minister to give a public commitment to open the corridor in November and dissociate from views of Subramanian Swamy.

Aam Aadmi Party leaders from Panjab Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Rupinder Kaur Rubi, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Kulwant Singh Pandori and Jai Kishan Rori,  in a joint statement said Swamy statement has hurted the sikh sentiment. who have high hopes to see 'KARAM BHUMI' of guru nanak dev ji. Aap seek Subramaniam Swamy should apologize from people or he be dismissed from BJP.
