675 YOUTHS SELECTED AT ‘MEGA JOB FAIR’ AT FEROZEPUR UNDER GHAR-GHAR-ROZGAR MISSION

Continuing its spree to provide jobs to the unemployed youth of district under the state government’s ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar’ scheme, a total of 675 unemployed youths were selected for the jobs during ‘Job Fair’ held at government polytechnic college, Ferozepur out of total1338 applicants. A series of job fairs will be organised in the district until September 26, where six job fairs will take place at different locations.

  The camp was inspected by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ravinder pal Singh at Government polytechnic college, Gulchike Road Ferozepur. During the job fair organized by the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise 1338 applicants had applied for the jobs. Out of these 675 applicants were offered jobs in addition to 405 more youth, who got financial assistance for self employment. The jobs were offered by 9 leading companies including Aditya Birla group, Maruti Suzuki, SBI Life Insurance, Luminous, Maclin, Capitol Hospital, ICICI Bank and others.

Hailing the efforts of the department, Deputy Commissioner Chander Gaind said that it was a historic day for the successful youth as they were going to start a new inning in their lives. He said that it was just a beginning of the marvelous success story which all of them were going to script in the future, adding he said that the with such endeavors the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s dream to provide job to every youth would be fulfilled every soon.

Divulging more, Deputy Commissioner Chander Gaind said that in this Mega Job Fair in this Mega Job Fair 84 companies are participating with 8219 job offers which intends to offer spot recruitment to the eligible candidates. Mr. Gaind said that many more job fairs to be organized in coming days including fair at Dev Samaj College on September 20, SBS technical college on September 23 and 24, Shaheed Udham Singh Punjab university constituent college Hithar and government college Zira on September 26.

The district administration was already on task of roping in key Industrial Units and leading entrepreneurs to provide job to the youth, adding the deputy commissioner said that the ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar’ scheme of the Captain government was all set to transform the destiny of the youth of state by providing job opportunities to them.

Employment generation and training officer, Ashoke Jindal said that the department has set a target to benefit as many as seven thousand unemployed youth in these job fairs and a large number of applicants have applied to take part in the fairs.
