KAPIL DEV'S APPOINTMENT AS CHANCELLOR ENHANCE THE DIGNITY OF PLAYERS IN STATE

Sports Cell of BJP, Haryana today welcome the state govt move of appointing Indian cricketing legend Kapil Dev as the first Chancellor of Sports University at Rai near Sonipat.

While addressing the media today at Chandigarh Press Club, former test cricketer and Convener, Sports Cell, BJP Haryana Chetan Sharma along with international wresting player Babita Phogat, President of Haryana Gymnastics and Football Association Suraj Pal Ammu and Cricket coach Sanjay Bhardwaj said this move has marked a new era of sporting world. Players opined that this responsibility will create new dimension in sporting arena but will produce new champions for the nation.

While appreciating the increasing sports budget for state and allocating the prize money comprehensively, Chetan Sharma said various new projects are underway which includes world class cricket stadium at Jhajjhar and state of the art stadium at Ambala. Sharma informed provisions for state's sports budget touches Rs 400 Crores mark which has created a sporting environment across the 22 districts of state.

Suraj Pal Ammu while advocating the party tickets for players for the upcoming assembly election said he had taken up this matter with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and party President Subhash Barala. "Any player, by the dint of abilities reaches Vidhan Sabha is a pride for sporting world who can further develops the avenues for coming generation in sports sector." said Ammu. Without naming any identity, Ammu pointed a few faces in the party's sports cell who can do wonders in election arena followed by forming next Govt.

Present on the occasion, Babita Phogat said players from state after bringing laurels for nation are now all set for serving the public and shouldn't be deprived of this opportunity. Dronacharya awardee and noted cricket coach Dr Sanjay Bhardwaj while comparing the sports structures and policies between Delhi and Haryana said national capital doesn't have regular coach. Academies are surviving on the part time coaches which discourage the morale of players and coaches. He realized the need of state sports policy need to be replicate to rest of the states in country.
