BSF JAWANS AFTER FIRING ON PAK SMUGGLERS SEIZED TWO KG CONTRABAND HEROIN WORTH RS. TEN CRORES FROM FEROZEPORE SECTOR

Border Security Force (BSF) Jawans reportedly  seized two packets of contraband (Weight approx- 2 kgs) suspected to be Heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post (BOP)- Dal, Ex- Adhoc Papa – V Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.

BSF Spokesman said on October 7 during night hours, vigilant BSF troops of Border Out Post Dal, Ex-Adhoc Papa- V Bn BSF, noticed some suspicious movement ahead of fence and got alerted. On sensing the misadventure of suspected smugglers, Border Security Force troops challenged the suspects to stop but they did not pay any heed. Hence BSF troops opened fire but suspected smuggler managed to escape taking advantage of darkness and fully grown paddy crops towards Pakistan.

Later, during search 02 packets of contraband (weight approx.- 02 kgs) suspected to be heroin recovered from the spot, valuing worth Rs. 10 Crores in international market. 

The enhanced vigil of BSF has once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of contraband items into India. During the year 2019, BSF has affected  156 KG valuing billion of rupees in international market  on Punjab Border.
