Holders Army XI and Indian Navy, Mumbai played a 1-1 draw in Pool A and split points in the 36th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar today
In Pool A league match Navy and Army played dished out good hockey. First half of the match was goalless. In the second half of the match Indian Navy earned a penalty corner which Sanjit Toppo converted to give his team a 1-0 lead.
In the 43rd minute of the play Army XI’s Rahul Rathee netted the ball from the top of the striking circle (1-1). With this draw Army have four points from two league outings. They won their first match against ONGC by 3-0. Indian Navy have only one point from two outings as they lost their first match from Indian Oil Mumbai.
