HARYANA VIDHAN SABHA PAID RICH TRIBUTES TO MARTYRS IN A SPECIAL SESSION

On the Special Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha today, obituary resolutions were passed to pay rich tributes to the martyrs of the state who have showed indomitable courage and sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country and other prominent personalities who have expired between the period from the end of the previous session and the beginning of the current session.

Leader of the House and Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal paid tributes and read out the obituary resolutions. Mr Gian Chand Gupta, Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha also read out the obituary resolutions and paid tributes to the departed souls. Leader of opposition Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda also read obituary resolutions and paid his tributes on behalf of his party. The members of House also observed a two minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls.

The House paid homage to former Member of Haryana Legislative Assembly, Mr Azmat Khan.

Tributes were also paid to the freedom fighter and martyrs of the state who have showed indomitable courage and sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country. These included Subedar Kamaljeet Singh of Ambala City, district Ambala, Havildar Somdutt of village Kharkara, district Rohtak and Sepoy Amandeep of village Dudhwa, district Charkhi Dadri.

Apart from this, the House placed on record its deep sense of sorrow on the sad demise of Mr Dharmender Singh Hooda, brother of former Chief Minister of Haryana, Chaudhary Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Mr Kirori Mal Nayar, father of Mr Jagdish Nayar, MLA, Mr Jagdish Yadav, cousin of Mr Laxman Singh Yadav, MLA, Mr Balbir Singh Malik, cousin of Mr Kulbir Singh Malik, Ex Deputy Speaker, Mr Sushil Deswal, brother-in-law of Mr Bijender Singh Kadian, Ex Minister, Mrs Santosh Yadav, mother of Dr Sudha Yadav, Ex MP and Mr Ram Mehar, brother-in-law of Mr Ganga Ram, Ex MLA.
