KABADDI COMPETITIONS FROM DECEMBER 1: FIRST MATCH- SRILANKA Versus ENGLAND AT GURU NANAK STADIUM SULTANPUR LODHI

SPORTS MINISTER WILL INAGURATE INTERNATIONAL KABADDI TOURNAMENT

After the inauguration of Special Edition of International Kabaddi Tournament-2019 to mark, the 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji tomorrow morning, Kabaddi competitions will commence and three matches will be played first day of the tournament.

The Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi will inaugurate International Kabaddi Tournament at Guru Nanak Stadium, Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala district on December 1, 2019 at 11.00 am. Accourding to the spokesman of Spotrs Department, all the teams have reached here and the staying arrangements are done for players in different hotels of Jalandhar.

According to the spokesman three matches will be played on first day of the tournament. First match will be played between Srilanka v/s England whereas, second will be played between Canada v/s England and third between USA v/s NewZealand . A cultural program will also be organized on the opening ceremoney. Allmost 150 players would be represent the Kabaddi extravaganza from eight different Countries.

The participating teams are divided into two groups: India, England, Srilanka and Australia are in Group A whereas Canada, USA, NewZealand and Kenya are in Group B.

First match will be played between Srilanka v/s England whereas, second will be played between Canada v/s England and third between USA v/s NewZealand . A cultural program will also be organized on the opening ceremoney. Allmost 150 players would be represent the Kabaddi extravaganza from eight different Countries.

As many as Seven countries besides India, which is hosting the prestigious tournament, are Australia, Canada, England, Kenya, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and USA. The winning team will be awarded with the the cash prize of Rs. 25 lakh while the runners-up and the team clinching the third position would get Rs. 15 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively.

That International Kabaddi Tournament will be Live Telecasted by PTC Network daily so that Kabaddi lovers could also enjoy on there television sets.

The Spokesman said that the Sports Department had devised a detailed plan at the Head Quarter, and also constituted committees to conduct the tournament at district level under the chairmanship of concerned Deputy Commissioners. All tournament venues have been prepared meticulously under the guidance of experts. Likewise, security arrangements at tournament venue, lodging places besides while ferrying the players have already been finalised. Two Liaison Officers have been deputed with each team to facilitate the players.
