BSF TROOPS SEIZED BIG HAUL OF HEROIN WORTH OVER 100 CRORES FROM INDO PAK BORDER IN GURDASPUR SECTOR

Alert Border Security Force (BSF) troops reported to have seized 22 Packets of contraband (Weight Approx-23 Kgs) suspected to be Heroin, two Pistol Magazines and 90 Live Rounds (Lot FAF 7.63 mm), 02 Smart Phones and 01 Jazz WI-Fi Router (Pakistan network) in the area of responsibility of Sector Gurdaspur on Friday morning. The contraband valuing over 100 crores in international market. This was the biggest seizer of this year.

BSF Spoksman from Punjab Frontier BSF Headquarter at Jalandhar, said on Friday atabout 0350 hrs, during wee hours, the BSF troops on duty heard some suspicious sound and got alerted. Furher, troops noticed movement of some personnel moving in suspicious manner but could not be observed clearly due to Fog and Darkness in the area. Sensing the  threat and to stop the misadventure of smugglers/ANEs, Border Security Force troops immediately  challenged the suspects and opened fire in self-defence, but the suspected smugglers managed to
escape taking advantage of dense fog, darkness and undulating ground.

Later, during search BSF  troops recovered 22 Packets of contraband (Weight Approx-23 Kg) suspected to be Heroin, 02 Pistol Magazines and 90 Live Rounds (Lot FAF 7.63 mm), 02 Smart Phones and 01 Jazz WI-Fi Router
(Pakistan network) from the spot. Vigilant troops of Border Security Force once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of contraband items into India,
