In view of coronavirus outbreak, Hindus are urging yoga studios in various parts of California to offer free yoga classes in virtual format accessible to all Californians, many of them stuck indoors.

This would be a remarkable contribution of state’s yoga industry to the collective health of Californians during these uncertain times as yoga might be a helpful tool in managing panic-stress-anxiety-fear caused by coronavirus and boost immunity; distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed indicated in a statement in Nevada today.

Rajan Zed urged yoga studios in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Fresno, Sacramento, Long Beach, Oakland, Bakersfield, Anaheim, etc., to come forward to contribute to the health of their communities in this difficult hour. Besides assisting in getting rid of stress, these remote yoga workouts might also help one to feel more relaxed; and benefits of yoga went beyond just physical health.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, stated that the world needed yoga more than ever. These free yoga classes delivering virtual content live in the homes of Californians on a regular schedule through various digital tools would be a great stress reduction strategy and help in keeping them healthy. If some practitioners still insisted on paying, provision of online donations could be made available.

Many California cities, usually through their parks-recreation departments, which reportedly offered/ hosted/ conducted in the past various kinds of yoga classes; should also now consider offering free virtual yoga classes during this coronavirus crisis for the health and well-being of the communities they served; Rajan Zed added.
