HARYANA RESTRICTED ENTRY OF FARMERS IN MANDIS : ONLY 50 FARMERS AT ONE TIME TO ENTER

In a bid to make hassle-free procurement of Mustard and Wheat during the Rabi season and to reduce congestion in Mandis, Haryana Government has decided to restrict the entry of farmers in the Mandis to 50 farmers only at one time. The decision has been taken to maintain social distancing norms in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Sharing more details about the State Government’s arrangements about procurement operations, a spokesman of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department said that as the Rabi procurement season i.e. (Wheat, Mustard and Gram) 2020-2021 shall commence from April 15 and will continue till June 30, 2020. The farmers will be allowed to visit Mandi in two time slots from 8.00 AM to 2.00 PM and from 2:30 PM to 6.00 PM.

Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board has issued detailed instructions to ensure the safety of all the stakeholders involved in the procurement operations and for the conduct of a smooth procurement, in these unprecedented times.

He informed that to reduce congestion in Mandis, procurement of wheat in Rabi procurement season 2020-21 shall be regulated and started from April 20 and Mustard, and Gram from April 15, 2020.

He added that to regulate and stagger the procurement, the Market Committee will ensure that all the agricultural produce i.e. (Wheat, Mustard, and Black Gram) should be entered in the mandi on the issue of online e-Gate Pass and that the passes will be issued only to the registered and verified farmers on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ Portal.

He said that the farmers of the State who are not registered can apply for registration upto April 19, 2020. The produce of out of state farmers will not be purchased till further instructions are issued.

The Spokesman further informed that it should be ensured that the farmer gets the weighment of his agricultural produce done at the weighbridge installed at the mandi gate or at the weighbridge outside the mandi which is approved by the Arhtiya Association where a representative of the Arhtiya association will also remain present. After unloading the agricultural produce in the mandi the farmer will get the weighment of the empty trolley vehicle done so that the actual weight of the agricultural produce will be known to the farmers and farmers will also get the slip duly signed from the concerned Arthiya, he added.

The Spokesman shared that the mandi association will ensure that Wheat is cleaned and filled in bags after weighment, for loading in the vehicles of the procurement agencies.

He said that all stakeholders in the procurement operations, are playing their role diligently, and must work in tandem to ensure that guidelines and instructions issued from time to time are strictly followed.
