HOMAGE PAID TO INDIAN SOLDIERS ON KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS AT PU BH3

Dean Student Welfare Office, Panjab University organised an event to mark the Kargil Vijay Diwas at Boy's Hostel No. 3.In his address, Prof. S.K. Tomar, DSW said that Kargil Vijay Diwas is named after the successful Operation Vijay on 26 July 1999. On this date in 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan. Further, he shared that the Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 July and resulted in loss of life on both the sides. 

Later, homage was paid to all the soldiers from Armed Forces who lost their lives during the war by lighting candles.  Prof Sweety Tomar recited a poem and Prof Sukhbir Kaur remembered the soldier. 

The event was coordinated by Warden Dr. Sanjeev Gautam and was attended by Prof. Sukhbir Kaur DSW(W), Wardens of boys and BH3 hostel residents.
