New Delhi (Face2News)

When it comes to talking about women empowerment, their safety and other equal rights, nobody sets back. But if we talk about actually implementing it, most people can't practice what they preach

Recently, the ABVP's President, Dr. Subbaish humiliated and harassed a women in Tamil Nadu. He urinated in front of the lady's house, which was even caught on camera. Even after filing the FIR, no action has been taken. There's no reason why the person should not be put on trials. There should be a proper investigation done on this matter. For the same reason, the NSUI went to the house of three women to give a letter stating the same issue, under the leadership of Nagesh Kariyappa, incharge Delhi. These are the women who raise their voice against women harassment and many women look upto them. They are Smriti Irani, Nirmala Sitharaman and Meenakshi Leki. They are a role model for a lot of women. If they raise their voice in this matter, many women will feel supported and safe.

The crime done by the ABVP President is horrendous and cannot be justified anyhow. If the leaders are doing such acts, how can the country be a safe space for women? On the one hand, the party promotes the policy of women empowerment and launches initiatives such as 'beti bachao beti padhao' and on the other hand, they harass women.

The NSUI strongly condemns such acts and believes that women's safety should be the country's priority. We demand that a proper investigation should be taken on this matter.
