SMART PHONES DISTRIBUTED TO STUDENTS IN ABOHAR

On the occasion of International Youth Day and Janmashtami, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Abhijeet Kaplish today participated in the mobile phone distribution function at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) here as the chief guest.

ADC said that the govt led by Captain Amarinder Singh was fulfilling the promise to provide smart phones;today 28 students of Class XII have benefited by the scheme. Due to the closure of schools since March 23 due to the corona pandemic, education got severely hamperedas financially weak families could not afford purchasing phones but the students will now be able to study with a determined heart.

He said that the state govt’s aim was to make the children capable in their life by getting them educated. Now having the facility of phone, none would be deprived of online education. The initiative was being appreciated even among the children.

Smart phones were distributed to 14 students each of boys and girls school, target has been set to provide such phones to every student in senior secondary classes in future.

One of the beneficiary boy said that he was dropping out of school due to the corona virus as on the one hand his home condition was not good and he did not have mobile phone facility. With the availability of phone now, he would be able to continue his studies through online facility and the online app run by the education department he would be able to read through e-content. The boy thanked the govt and assured that now he will study hard and achieve something in his life.Principal Rajesh Sachdeva and other teachers were present on the occasion
