CRACK DOWN ON CRIMINALS, 612 OFFENDERS INCLUDING 11 MOST WANTED CRIMINALS APPREHENDED

In a massive state-wide crackdown, Haryana Police have apprehended 612 offenders including 11 most-wanted criminals, 297 for holding illicit arms and 304 on the charges of smuggling and possession of drugs between July 16 and July 31, 2020.

Besides, police have also managed to arrest 408 proclaimed offenders, 275 bail jumpers/parole jumpers suspected to be involved in heinous crimes like robbery, dacoity, and theft among others. Among the attested offenders, many of them were evading arrest for a long time.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Mr. Navdeep Singh Virk said that State police had launched a special campaign to put a complete check on narcotics smugglers, unearth illicit arms and to nab POs, bail jumpers/parole jumpers. All the field units were asked to ensure the arrest of offenders including most-wanted and rewarded criminals.

    

Giving this information here Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Mr. Navdeep Singh Virk said that State police had launched a special campaign to put a complete check on narcotics smugglers, unearth illicit arms and to nab POs, bail jumpers/parole jumpers. All the field units were asked to ensure the arrest of offenders including most-wanted and rewarded criminals.

He said that keeping pressure on criminals and anti-social elements led to the seizure of 229 illegal pistols, 19 revolvers, 53 desi kattas, 10 magazines and 438 cartridges from the possession of 297 accused arrested under the relevant section of IPC. Police have also registered 236 cases against drug-peddlers and arrested 304 accused after it recovered 1256 kg narcotics including opium, charas, heroin smack, ganja, poppy husk and 63,243 prohibited tablets/capsules.

We always endeavour to maintain law and order and take the criminals to their ultimate end. This helps in keeping crime under check and instills a sense of security among the masses, added Mr. Virk.
