OLYMPIAN AND DHAYAN CHAND AWARDEE CHANDIGARH ROWER HONORED.

Olympian Rower and Dhayanchand awardee rower Manjeet Singh was in Chandigarh today and honored by presenting a momento of Chandigarh Rowing Association by the Honarary secretary Advocate Rajiv Sharma.

Thanking the Chandigarh Rowing Association and the coach Arvind Manjeet said , "If the CRA and the coach did not interduced me to rowing here at Sukhna Lake Club", I would not have been a recipient of this award. He also thanked Chief National coach Ismail begh and president Mrs Raj Laxmi Singh Deo and former President Mr CP Singh Deo of Rowing Federation of India "without their guidance, efforts and motivation this would not have been made possible", he said.

Manjeet a DAV Senior Secondary School Sector 8 Chandigarh pass out and has won its first medal while representing Chandigarh rowing association from the city.

Congratulating Manjet Singh President of CRA Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu said we are very proud of him and want him after his retirement to come to Chandigarh and share his experience with the rowers from the city and prepare them to represent the city in Internatio al events.

Major DP Singh (retd) senior vice president of CRS while congratulating Manjeet said it's a matter of great pride for the city and for Chandigarh rowing Association, he further said that Manjeet singh is the most decorated rower of India from Chandigarh, who had played in Beijing Olympics, 2008, won 2 silver medals in Asian games, 2010, represented India in the London Olympics, 2012. Manjeet said "a visit to Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh changed my entire life. I had never thought of becoming a rower, and it's so nostalgic after visiting Sukhna Lake today after long time."
