MIGRATORY POLIO PULSE DRIVE LAUNCHED IN ABOHAR

  In its effort to maintain a polio-free area, the health authorities started a three-day special migratory pulse polio campaign here on Sunday. Under the programme, children of those who migrated from other states will be given polio drops.  

On the first day, the Health Department administered polio drops to 1375 children while covering 2287 houses and dwellings. Senior Medical officer Dr Gagandeep Singh and Nodal officer Dr Sahib Ram said that the teams would cover 5256 houses in three days.

Team incharge Luxmi Rani and supervisor Bharat Sethi said that Health teams will visit all brick-kilns, colonies of labourers, factories and slum areas besides all those places where migratory labourers live. ASHA, ANM workers were using masks, gloves and sanitizers while aggressively targeting the mobile and migratory population.
