JALANDHAR DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED BY NARCOTICS SQUAD IN DELHI, ONE KG. SUPER FINE CHARAS RECOVERED

The team of Narcotics Squad, SouthDistrict has done commendable work by arresting a drug peddler namely Gaurav Chopra @ Rahul Babain a case vide FIR No.407/2020 u/s 20/25NDPS Act PS-Malviya Nagar. Fromhis possession, 1.028 kilogramsof fine Charas (Hashish) has been recovered.

 Gaurav Chopra @ Rahul Baba R/o Gautam Nagar, Delhi. Age-36 years. He belongs to Jallandhar, Punjab. He is involvedin the illegal trade of Narcotics & Psychotropic contraband substances. He was previously arrested in a case FIR No.2220/2018 U/s 20 NDPS Act, & 33 Delhi Excise Act, P.S. Hauz Khas. 

The team of Narcotics Squad, South District wasspecifically tasked to curb the supply of contraband substance in the area.Accordingly, the staff of Narcotics Squad initiated sincere efforts by sensitizinglocal informers and collecting human intelligence.

Consequently, in the intervening nightof 25/26.09.2020, a secret information regarding movement of a drug peddlernear Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital, Malviya Nagar was received at Narcotics Squad, South District. The information was shared with senior officers and asper direction, a team comprising of Gaurav Dalal, ASI Rajender Singh, ASIRajesh Kumar, Ct. Ashok, Ct. Dharmender, Ct. Satish, Ct Praveen led by Inspr. P. K Jha, I/c Narcotics Squad underover all supervision of ACP/Operations Sh. Bijender Singh was constituted toact swiftly.

Subsequently, a strategic trap waslaid near Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital, Malviya Nagar. A person was found roamingin a suspicious condition. On pointing out of informer, the team swung intoaction and successfully apprehended the person who was later on, identified as GauravChopra @ Rahul Baba. On his cursorysearch, 1.028 Kilograms of fine Charas (Hashis) were recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case vide FIR No.407 /2020 u/s 20/25 NDPS Act was registered at PS-Malviya Nagar and the accused was arrested.Further investigation is in progress. The staff involved in good work is being suitably rewarded.
