DELHI CRIME BRANCH POLICE NABS THREE ACCUSED FOR IMPERSONATION

THE ACCUSED WERE GOT SELECTED FOR THE POST OF PRIMARY TEACHER.,  SELECTION OF THE ACCUSED HAVE BEEN CANCELLED BY THE DSSSB AND ALSO DEBARRED FROM ALL EXAMS OF DSSSB.

A complaint of Sh. Anil Kumar Singh, Controller of Exams, DSSSB, was received in the office of STARS-II/Crime Branch, regarding impersonation by candidates in the online exam for the post of Teacher (Primary) held in October & November 2018. It was also informed that the Exams for the Post of Asstt. Teacher (Primary) post code 89/17 was held on different dates, i.e., on 06/10/2018, 07/10/2018, 10/11/2018, 11/11/2018, 14/11/2018 and 29/11/2018 in different shifts in which 71,912 candidates appeared. 

Mr. Bhisham Singh, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cyber (Crime Branch), Delhi.he DSSSB asks candidates to bring 2nd page of the admit card on which recent postcard size photograph showing both shoulders and ears, is to be pasted on the designated place. This provision has been made so as to enable the chief invigilators and invigilators to identify the candidates properly. This 2nd page of the admit card is collected by the invigilator from the candidate at the examination center. The DSSSB also decided to forward the 2nd page of the admit card of the selected candidate to the user Department to ensure that the appointment is given to the same candidate who had appeared in the exam for the said post.

Accordingly, the DSSSB started segregating the second page of the Admit cards of the shortlisted/selected candidates for the aforesaid post. During this process it was discovered that the 2nd page of the admit cards of four selected women candidates were having postcard size photograph of a same lady. Prima facie, it was evident that one lady had appeared for the exam on behalf of all above stated four candidates and they all were got selected for the said post.

During the course of investigation, on 27.12.2018, one accused was arrested and search for other accused were made but they were not available at their given addresses. Efforts were made to trace them out but could not be succeeded. Accordingly, proceedings u/s 82 CrPC were initiated against them by the court. On 12.10.2020 during the course of investigation three accused have been arrested.

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI:

Two accused disclosed that in 2018 when they were taking coaching from T.N. Coaching Centre, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, they met with a girl, who used to take the same bus with them and was also taking coaching near Punjabi Bagh. She assured them to arrange proxy candidate on their behalf to appear in the exam.

During sustained interrogation another accused disclosed that she had appeared in various exams but was unable to get selected, she met a girl during her coaching time who assured her that she would arrange someone who would appear on her behalf in the exam. The impersonated candidate was arranged and she was selected in the exam. Search for the girl who had appeared on their behalf is being made. Further investigation is in progress to unearth the whole racket and arrest the remaining accused.
