Subhash Gupta (61) Editor and founder of Hindi Daily Jang-e-Samachar died on Sunday. With this death, Abohar has lost four journalists in less than eight months of time this year.

He had gone to meet his son Parag in Andhra Pradesh just three days back but had some medical problems there since he had been taking treatment for cardiac and neurology related problems in the past. Gupta had his last breath at 5 AM on Sunday, Jatin Dhawan, chief of the Bureau said. The cremation was performed in the afternoon.

Gupta was running the four–page newspaper for more than two decades. Many NGOs have expressed shock and grief at his demise.

Earlier Shiv Garg (65) Editor and founder of long-standing newspaper Janta Kesari had died in the last week of March. Few days later, Punjab Kesari Group correspondent Kanti Bhardwaj (72) died while another correspondent Naresh Bajaj (57) who was serving Sach Kahoon, a daily newspaper, died due to corona pandemic in September.
