The Social Welfare Society, in association with its PRO Sanjeev Kumar, his brother Kranti Kumar, mother Tara Rani, celebrated Diwali at the old age home in Fazilka.

The distributed sweets and gift packets to the elders living in the Ashram and family-children Garima, Jahnavi and Aniket sought blessings from all the elders. The event was organized in the presence of NGO’s patron Girdhari Lal Aggarwal, Chairman Shashi Kant, senior vice president Subhash Chander Kataria, Saroj Thirani and Finance Secretary Naresh Mittal, Ashram Chairman Ramesh Kapoor and treasurer Ashok Budhiraja.

On the occasion Shashi Kant said that the Jhamb family has been celebrating Diwali for the last 14 years with all the elders in the ashram so that their children also inculcate rites of service. This is a commendable work, due to which the elderly living there reduces the monotony and they feel good. He said that all the social workers of Fazilka are available at all times for the service of these elders.

The program was attended by District Red Cross Society secretary Subhash Arora, State Bank of India deputy manager Vijay Singla and his wife Sunita Singla, Jyoti B.Ed. college chairman Surinder Thakral Happy, Mrs. Sumati Jain, Neelam Sachdeva, Charanjit Kaur Maini, Mona Kataria, Suman Jain , Narinder Jain Kokan, Avnish Sachdeva, Narinder Agarwal, Sunil Sethi, Chandrakat, Jagdish Sirova and more than a dozen young children from nearby colony were also present who took the blessings of all the elders. All the children were offered Prasad on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Shashikant, Subhash Chandra Kataria and Surinder Thakral Happy also donated to the old age home on the occasion.
