Now when the tracks have been cleared for the trains to run after the end of the rail blockade with the consent of the farmers, it is hoped that the auto drivers will get employment again. Auto rickshaws transporting passengers from railway stations were hit by a severe recession, first due to lockdown and then due to the complete closure of train services due to the farm agitation.

Although no passenger train has arrived in Fazilka district so far but with the consent given by the Railways, it is hoped that these trains will soon start running on the tracks.

Mohinder Singh, President, Auto Drivers Union said that more than 500 auto drivers were dependent on Abohar, Fazilka and Jalalabad railway stations in the district. He said that now they will start getting passenger rides again.
Another auto driver Avtar Singh lauded the role played by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in running the trains and said that if the trains would run with the efforts of the government and the farmers then people would be able to travel. Auto driver Kartar Singh said that auto drivers have designated stops in cities and because they were driving autos in the station area, their business was more affected due to rail blockades.

The auto drivers said that now that all the restrictions have been lifted, the railways should start passenger trains in Fazilka district as soon as possible.
