Local Congress in-charge Sandeep Jakhar today launched development work to be done at a cost of about 22 lakhs in Panjkosi, native village of Jakhar family.

For a long time there was a demand that about one and a half kilometer of the rough road along the crematorium of the village be constructed. To fulfill the same work has been started to provide pukka road at a cost of about Rs 22 lakhs.

He said that during their 10-year regime the Akali-BJP government didn’t lay even a brick in the village. Data speaks for the development that was done only when the Congress government was installed. The condition of the villages speaks volumes of the neglect that the previous government chose to adopt about Abohar constituency.

“Even when SAD chief Sukhbir Badal was elected member of Lok Sabha, he ignored Abohar in earmarking funds from his quota that runs into crores, Jakhar said.

He told the villagers to check that the material and work is being done properly, substandard construction will not be tolerated. Om Prakash Sarpanch, Daya Ram Poonia member, Yogesh Kherwa, Harish Beniwal, Akashdeep Kajla were present on the occasion.
