HEALTH WORKERS TEAM BEAT THE JOURNALIST XI IN R’DAY CRICKET MATCH

Abohar, Sriganganagar: The Health Department team won the match by defeating Journalists XI in a thrilling cricket match held at the playground of Mayur School on the Republic Day in Sriganganagar.

Ajay Singh Shekhawat of the Health Department, who scored an unbeaten 60-run knock, was declared “Man of the Match”. Ajay also took one wicket for 11 runs. CMHO Dr Girdhari Lal Mehrada and PMO Dr Baldev Singh were present as special guests.

  Giving the message of “Healthy Rajasthan”the match was organized to promote harmony. Dr. Meharda said that people of all ages should take interest in sports so that their health remains perfect. At the same time regular exercise is very important. Deputy CMHO Dr. Karan Arya was also present.

The team of Journalist XI, whichdecided to bat first, scored 147 runs in the scheduled twenty-overs. Bharat Sharma scored 31, Sumit Bhatia 24, Sunil Sihag 18, Rakesh Verma and Manoj Tiwari scored 15 each. In the Health Department team, Yeshu took four, Surinder Kumar, Rahul and Shiv took two wickets each while Ajay Kumar got a breakthrough.

In response, the Health Department team achieved the target by losing eight wickets in the 20th over. Ajay Kumar emerged unbeaten with 60 runs. Jesus scored 20 andDeepak 18 runs. Journalist XI bowler Manoj Tiwari took three wickets and Sunil Sihag, Raju Jadeja, Bharat Sharma, Anil Shakya and Sumit Bhatia took one wicket each.

The trophies were presented by CMHO Dr. Girdhari Lal Mehra, PMO Dr. Baldev Singh and Deputy CMHO Dr. Karan Arya.

The guests and the players thanked all the colleagues including Health Department COIEC Vinod Bishnoi, Assistant Technical Officer Dhiraj Gehlot, coach Sanjeev Saharan and Naresh Kumar Bhadoria for the success of the match that was organized in collaboration with National TB Eradication Program and Mayur School management.

Journalists Sanjay Sethi, Rakesh Mitwa, Ram Kishan Sharma, Kuldeep Goyal and Surinder Ojha enthralled the audience with live commentary. Also present were scribe Raj Singh, Laxmikant Sharma, Jatinder Sharma, Kuldeep Goyal, Ram Kishan Singathia, Jyoti and Hardev Singh.
