Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday condoled the death of Gurmukh Singh, the father of Senior Journalist Jupinderjit Singh, Special Correspondent of The Tribune and father-in-law of Kanchan Vasdev, Assistant Editor, The Indian Express.

Gurmukh Singh (77), former National Volleyball Coach breathed his last at his residence in Mohali this evening after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, relatives and friends of the deceased and prayed to the Almighty to give them the courage to bear this grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema on Thursday expressed grief over the demise of Gurmukh Singh (77),  He said that the Aam Aadmi Party extends sympathies and stood by the bereaved family in this hour of grief. He prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and to give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.

In the meantime the Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Raveen Thukral also mourned the sad demise and extended his sympathies to the family.
