Triangular cricket tournament ‘TRIDENT PCA CUP’ between best of Punjab and Rest of Punjab is all set to get underway from tomorrow 15th March 2021 to 26th March 2021. The tournament is sponsored by Trident Group of Companies and carries a cash prize of Rs 2 lacs for the Winner team and Rs 1 lacs /- for the Runners up team.

Sharing the information Bhupinder Singh Sr, former International cricket player & member of the organising committee informed that the tournament will commence on 15th March at Amritsar and matches will be played at various venues such as Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana and the finals will be played at PCA stadium, Mohali from 24th March to 26th March, 2021.

The purpose of the tournament is to make the best players, chosen by PCA from Punjab on the basis of their performance, to play against each other, perform and improve in the company of better players. Moreover, it can be a regular feature in the Cricket calendar of PCA. He said that matches will be played among 3 teams consisting of players from Punjab who have been duly selected by the senior selection committee of PCA.

Team 1 : PUNJAB XI (Main team), Team 2 : REST OF PUNJAB (RED), Team 3 : REST OF PUNJAB (GREEN) 

Teams will play twice against each team in a league format and the top two teams will play in the finals for the Winner’s purse of Rs. 2 lacs and the Runners up purse of Rs. 1 lac. Individual prizes of worth Rs 11,000 will be awarded to Best Batsman, Best all-rounder, Best Wicket keeper and Best Fielder of the tournament will be given to top performing players besides Man of the Match for each game. The tournament will be played as per BCCI norms of One dayers (50 overs each side) with white kit and SG Test Red ball. The matches will commence at 9am. BCCI & PCA panel officials will be officiating in these matches and will be widely covered by Print media.                  

Note:- Winner to be decided from Best of three final matches. Third match will only be played if required.  

This is the 4th tournament in a row sponsored by the Trident Group in its endeavour to promote the game of Cricket in Punjab and they have promised to organise many more such tournaments in future.
