VIGILANCE NABS CLERK OF ELECTRITY BOARD ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS. THREE THOUSANDS

Haryana State Vigilance Bureau arrested Manoj Kumar, Clerk working in Electricity Board, Faridabad red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 3,000. Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the complainant, Sh. Amit Kumar, a resident of Faridabad said in the complaint that he got an electricity bill amounting to Rs. 54,000 for which he met clerk Manoj Kumar to correct his electricity bill. The clerk agreed to reduce the bill to Rs 15,000 and demanded Rs 3,000 as a bribe for this. 

After receiving the information, a case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Police Station, State Vigilance Bureau, Faridabad, and a team headed by Inspector Ramnath was constituted to arrest the accused. Smt. Neha Saharan, Tehsildar, Badkhal was appointed as Duty Magistrate. The team of State Vigilance Bureau caught the said clerk red-handed in the presence of Duty Magistrate and shadow witness. The accused is being interrogated thoroughly. The investigation of the case is in progress.
