Even as he handed over Rs. 51,000 to Kamalpreet Kaur at her house here, President Punjab NSUI Akshay Sharma assured her of all future help, assistance and support in fulfilment of her dream to seal an Olympic medal for Punjab and nation.

Visiting her home in Kabarwala village here this afternoon to personally congratulate the star athlete, Akshay Sharma said that her hardwork and dedication would inspire other youngsters to take up sports as career.

Wishing her the very best for her Olympic medal journey, Akshay said the whole of Punjab was praying for her win.

Pertinently, Kamalpreet Kaur coming from humble beginnings had earlier this week secured her place for the all important international sporting event to be held at Tokyo from July 23 to August 8. She had also broken the national discus throw record by clocking 68.06 metres at Athletics Championships held at Patiala
