PUNJAB TO SOON APPOINT OLYMPIAN AS CHIEF HOCKEY COACH: RANA SODHI

• ANNOUNCES 36 SEATS DAY-SCHOLAR HOCKEY WING FOR SURJIT HOCKEY ACADEMY

Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi today announced that an Olympic level player would soon be appointed as the Chief Hockey Coach to promote Hockey at the grass root level in the state.

Sports Minister made this revelation, while meeting the office-bearers of the Surjit Hockey Society, saying that the state government was working hard for further honing the game of budding hockey players of the state. Thus, decided to take the services of a renowned Olympian, who has made remarkable feats in the international arena. "Soon an Olympic level player would be seen imparting training to the hockey players of the state" he categorically mentioned.

Rana Sodhi also lauded the achievements and efforts of the Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar teaching hockey game tactics to 14 to 19 year old Hockey players under the patronage of Surjit Hockey Society. He also announced to provide 36 seats (18 boys and 18 girls) day-scholar hockey wing to the academy for the year 2021-22 besides providing 200 hockey, 200 ball and 2 goalkeeper kits to the academy.
