CM REVIEWS COVID-19 SITUATION IN MANDI DISTRICT

Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur presiding over the review meeting on Covid-19 situation in Mandi district at Sundernagar on 24 March 2021.

While presiding over the review meeting on Covid-19 situation in Mandi district at Sundernagar today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was fully aware of the situation and has taken appropriate steps to check the resurgence in covid-19 cases in the State.

Chief Minister said that till date total sampling of 125881 had been done in Mandi district and 10382 cases were reported positive out of which 10197 have been cured and 129 deaths reported. He said that positivity rate per sample in the district was 8.25 percent and fatality rate 1.24 percent.

Jai Ram Thakur said that total bed capacity in the district for Covid-19 patients was 583 which includes 150 beds in Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College Nerchowk. He said that as many as 69483 doses of Covid vaccine have been administrated till date. He said that there was adequate stock of Covid-19 logistics such as N-95 masks, triple layer mask, Infra red thermometer, pulse oxymeter, hand sanitizers etc.

Chief Minister said that the upcoming pre fabricated covid-19 hospital at Nerchowk would be completed at the earliest and the patients would be admitted in the hospital after 15th April. He said that Mandi district was the top rank district of the State in providing vaccination to the senior citizens. He said that till date about 37794 senior citizens had been vaccinated.

Jai Ram Thakur urged the people of the State to ensure complete observation of SOPs so that resurgence of the covid-19 patients could be curtailed. He also requested the people to use face masks and hand sanitizers to check the spread of this virus.

Deputy Commissioner, Mandi Rugved Thakur made detailed presentation on status of Covid-19 in the district.

MP and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap, Nagar Parishad Sundernagar President Jatinder Sharma, Director Technical Education Vivek Chandel, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Devender Sharma, Principal Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College Nerchowk Dr. R.C. Thakur, Medical Superintendent of the College Dr. Jiwa Nand, SP Shalini Agnihotri, SDM Sundernagar Rahul Chauhan and other senior officers were also present.
