CHANDIGARH POLICE CRACK DOWN ON OFFENDERS ON HOLI FESTIVAL, 877 CHALLANED, 41 VEHICLES IMPOUNDED

On the day of Holi Festival on Monday, Chandigarh Police conducted special drive against speeding, riding two wheeler without helmet, triple riding and other traffic violations in the city.

During this Festival, Chandigarh Traffic Police deployed 23 special traffic nakas and 3 mobile teams in the different part of the city in which approx. 459 traffic police officials/home guard volunteers were deployed.

During this drive, 452 violators were challaned for various traffic offences and 41 vehicles were impounded. In this drive, 234 two wheelers, 211 four wheelers and 07 three wheelers were challaned for various traffic violations. The description of the same is as under:-

Without Safety Helmet 108, Violation of road markings 85, 3 Dangerous U-turn/Where U-turn prohibited 77,  Without Seat Belt 49, Black film violation 25, Triple riding 24,  Red Light Jump 15,  Other violations 69. Total Challans 452

Apart from the above, 425 TVIS challans (351 for Speeding and 74 for other violations) were issued for various traffic violations in the city. Moreover, 32 challans were issued for not wearing facemask.
