Likewise for many years this year also the parents particularly a group of persons have started working on issues of school fees, books etc. This has become a regular feature every year and this continue for 3 to 4 months at the beginning of every academic session. Last year this slugfest continued for the entire year so much so that every segment concerned with the education and some publicity speakers reached the courts up to supreme court . Eventually court decisions came to settle the entire issue. Hence court cleared the air minutely and there is no doubt left at this stage.

Our main concern is the atmosphere which was created by language used by some parents as well as other interested groups. The disgruntled elements. not the genuine parents, used almost abusive language against the educational institutions. This is mainly fight between educational institutions and parents luckily teachers and students were not directly attacked. But due to extended publicity which this issue got naturally these happenings had a bearing of student teachers’ relations also.

In this process all respect towards teaching community and parent -teacher relation was forgotten which has ultimately decreased the esteem of teachers in the eyes of students. It seemed that the stage has reached to such a bad situation that normalcy cannot be brought back. It is also a fact Majority of parents understand the situation because they care for their children. As such they have become neutral while enjoying the show.

The entire discussion is around the financial transactions and commercialisation and it is very sad to say that all these parents are not discussing the teaching process or education imparted. The only object of sending the children to school is to educate them and in this slugfest the concern for improving education is missing and that is more worrisome. The financial transactions should remain confined to parents and accounts of educational institutes and Teaching and education should be the main concern. This needs to be considered well.

Of course, due to CORONA situation some parents have genuine difficulty also but at the same time Schools are also under tremendous pressure. When two persons who know each other very well are in problem than two should sit down and discuss the this amicably and when there is a will the solution to problems will not be far away. Beware this year also same process, as happened last year, is being instigated as such without going to details of slugfest, we appeal to all the parents and the educational institutions to regain the relations and make every effort to regain parent-teacher relationships even at the cost of some politically motivated and publicity speakers.

We hope that education is pious sector will be allowed to remain as it .Let us return to the old times when PTM used to be an opportunity to have cordial talks and to discuss education to children. Let us do that .
