CHANDIGARH: NIGHT CURFEW IMPOSED FROM 6 PM TO 5 AM , ALL SHOPS, MALLS TO REMAIN CLOSED AT 5 PM

ALL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, SCHOOL, COLLEGES, COACHING INSTITUTIONS, LIBRARIES ETC. WILL REMAIN CLOSED TILL MAY 15.

UT administration imposed curfew from 6 PM to 5 AM. All shops, malls, etc. will  be closed by 5 PM, while home delivery to be allowed upto 9 PM. All non-essential activities will be banned during the night curfew. This will come into effect from April 29.

Earlier night curfew was imposed  from 9 PM to 5 AM. 

This order shall come into force with effect from 29.04.2021 and shall remain in force till further orders.  
Any breach of this order shall invite action under section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management' Act, 2005 and section 188 of the Indian Penal Code along with other applicable laws. 

All Educational Institutions, School, Colleges, Coaching Institutions, Libraries etc. will remain closed till May 15. 

DETAILED ORDER ISSUED BY MR. MANOJ PRIDA ADVISOR TO UT ADMINISTRATION:   

1. The corona curfew timings shall be changed to 6 PM to 5 AM from 29.04.2021. Detailed order in this regard shall be issued by the District Magistrate. 

2. All gymnasiums and spas and cinema hall will remain closed till further orders.

3. The Manufacturing industry shall be allowed to remain open. The movement of employees/labour of manufacturing industry and vehicles carrying them shall be allowed. However, concerned industry shall issue them requisite permission / identity cards for the purpose.

4. All Government offices will function with 50% of their staff. Further, as per the guidelines of Govt. of India, all officers of the level of the Deputy Secretary, equivalent and above shall attend office on regular basis. Head of the Departments shall prepare roster for the attendance of the staff concerned.

5. Visitors will be allowed to meet officials only with prior appointments. 6. There will be a ban on social, cultural, political & religious events, etc. till further orders.

7. Marriages attended by up to 50 persons and funerals/last rites attended by up to 20 persons shall be allowed.

8. The Transport buses will run with 50% capacity only. 9. The Museums, libraries, coaching institutions, etc. will remain closed. 

However, the online coaching will be permitted.

10. There will be screening of all visitors to the city at airport, railway station, ISBT, etc.  

11. Directions in regard to functioning of District Courts-43, Chandigarh and High Court shall be passed by the Hon'ble Punjab & Haryana High Court.
