GGDSD COLLEGE CELEBERATES WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Department of Biotechnology and Institution Innovation Cell GGDSD College, Chandigarh,  under the aegis of Indian Science Congress (Chandigarh Chapter) in collaboration with Chandigarh Forum for Science and Technology Communication has organized a distinguished lecture by Prof. Alok Dhawan, Director, Centre for Biomedical Research, Lucknow on the topic "Innovation, A key Driver to rejuvenate th Environment"

Prof R.C. Sobti, INSA fellow and Former Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University Chandigarh welcomed the delegates and introduced the speakers. Sh Upkar Krishan Sharma, President, GGDSD Society, Chandigarh talked about the importance of Environment Day and briefed about green committee and green auditing of the college.

Prof. Alok Dhawan, Director, Centre for Biomedical Research, Lucknow introduced about the research facilities developed at CMBR, Lucknow. He talked about the need to understand the real meaning of Environment in order to contribute one’s share on an individual level.

He also emphasized the need to change required in policies for conservation and preservation of the environment on a priority basis.  Dr. V.K. Kamboj, former Director, CDRI, Lucknow thanked Prof Alok for his cognizant talk and need to adopt ecofriendly approaches. The vote of thanks was given by Dr M.C. Sidhu, Secretary, Indian Science Congress (Chandigarh Chapter).. According to convenor Dr Navneet Batra, this is part of series of series of lectures which are being organized to make the Faculty, students and researchers from different colleges, universities /research institutions and Public in general  conversant various aspects   biological sciences especially in the pandemic time.
