FLYING SIKH MILKHA SINGH'S WIFE SUCCUMBS TO CORONA. MILKHA SINGH BATTLING FOR LIFE. CM MOURNS

Flying Sikh Milkha Singh's wife  Mrs, Nirmala Milkha Singh succumbed to Covid on Sunday evening. She was admitted in Private Hospital of Mohali .Milkha Singh could not participate in last rites as he was in Intensive care Unit (ICU). 

Meanwhile Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday condoled the sad demise of former Captain of Indian Women National Volleyball team Nirmal Milkha Singh (85), the wife of legendary Flying Sikh Milkha Singh, who passed away here this evening at a private hospital in Mohali after a valiant battle against COVID-19. She is survived by her husband, one son and three daughters. Her son Jeev Milkha Singh is also a renowned Golfer. 

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said, " I am saddened to learn about the death of one of the iconic volleyball players who brought several laurels for the country thus making every Punjabi proud."  The remarkable services rendered by Nirmal Milkha Singh as Director of Sports for women, Punjab for promotion of sports would be ever remembered by one and all. Sharing his heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family, relatives and friends, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to bear the huge loss in this hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

unjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi condoled the sad demise of Nirmala Milkha Singh, wife of seasoned athlete Flying Sikh Milkha Singh. Nirmala Milkha Singh, who was also former Volleyball player, was admitted in Fortis Hospital Mohali after tested positive for Corona, where she was died today. Milkha Singh was also tested positive and he is under treatment in PGI Chandigarh.In a condolence message, the Sports Minister said, "I am deeply saddened to learn about the death of Nirmala Milkha Singh, which is extremely shocking and unfortunate." Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, relatives and friends, Rana Sodhi prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear this irreparable loss in this hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul. He also wished speedy recovery of Milkha Singh.
