In the case of death of 11-year-old boy Hriday Goel, son of Vikas Goyal, resident of Arya Upnagar, Narwana, caused by drowning in the swimming pool, during a wedding ceremony at Nurmahal, a 5-star hotel in Sector 32, Karnal, the family members called on the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and DGP Haryana Prashant Kumar Agrawal and submitted a memorandum, demanding action against the hotel management.

During Media interaction at Chandigarh Press Club today, the father of the deceased, Vikas Goel said that the death of his child was due to the negligence of the hotel management. During the incident, neither a life guard nor any management staff was present near the swimming pool.

There was also no safety grill on the edge of the pool, which the child could hold onto. The pool should have been closed in those days anyway under the Covid restrictions. In the middle of the wedding ceremony, when we reached near the pool, searching for the child, we found him drowning. We immediately took the child to a nearby private hospital, but by then the child had died.
