IPL GAMBLING RACKET BUSTED , FIVE HELD WITH ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENTS

The staff of AATS of South East District has arrested five gamblers Akash @ Deepu, Ahsan @ Rinku, Mukesh, Mohd Shahjad and Sunit Kumar Sinha. With their arrest, two laptops, cash of Rs. 52000/-, thirteen mobile phones, one television, two calculator, one dongal and five mobile chargers have been recovered from their possession.

In the view of recent incidents of IPL Cricket Gambling in South East District, a dedicated team comprising ASI Vinod Kumar, ASI Roop Singh, ASI Kripal Singh, HC Man Singh, HC Praveen, HC Rajeev, HC Sharwan, HC Vikram, Ct Manoj, Ct Amit Kumar and Ct Anuj led by SI Ram Kumar under the supervision of Sh. Umesh Barthwal, ACP/Operations was constituted to bust the gamblers.

The Team was assigned the task to track and nab the IPL Cricket Gamblers active in the area of South-East District. On 20.09.2021, one secret tip was received about the gambling in a flat in Molarband Band Extension, Badarpur.

Roped to the secret information, the team got permission of house search from senior officials. The raid was conducted on the top floor of said house where five persons were gambling on IPL matches with their complete set up. The staff overpowered all five accused persons.

The accused persons were identified as Akash @ Deepu s/o Dhirender R/o Molarband Extension, Badarpur, Delhi age-30 yrs, Ahsan @ Rinku s/o Juher R/o Badarpur, Delhi, age 30 yrs, Mukesh s/o Jagdeesh R/o Rast Vinod Nagar, Delhi age 42 yrs, Mohd Shahjad s/o Mohd Nayab R/o Mohalla Ahmad Nagar, PS Kotwali Amroha, District Amroha Uttar Pradesh age 32 yrs and Sunit Kumar Sinha s/o Lt Nirmal Kishore Sinha R/o Molarband Extension, Badarpur Delhi age 37 yrs. With their arrest, two laptops, thirteen mobile phones, one LCD Tv, One Dongle, five mobile phone chargers, two calculator, two note books and cash of Rs 52000/- were recovered from their possession. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 532/21, u/s 3/4/6 Delhi Public Gambling Act 1955, was registered at PS Badarpur.

Mr. R.P. MEENA,DCP, SAID, during sustained interrogation, accused disclosed that they are close friends. They have no work to earn their livelihood. They want to live a lavish life style. They are fond of travelling. So to earn quick money in a short frame of time, they started gambling on IPL cricket matches but held by the police on the second day of session. 

All the five accused persons were arrested and two laptops, thirteen mobile phones, one LCD Tv, One Dongle, five mobile phone chargers, two calculator, two note books and cash of Rs 52000/-were seized through seizure memo. Efforts are being made to nab the other accused persons involved.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED:   Accused Akash @ Deepu s/o Dhirender R/o Molarband Extension, Badarpur, Delhi age 30 yrs has studied up to 12th clsss. He has no work to earn his livelihood. No previous involvement has been found against him., Accused Ahsan @ Rinku s/o Juher R/o Badarpur, Delhi, age 30 yrs has studied up to 10th class. He has no work to earn his livelihood. No previous involvement has been found against him.. Mukesh s/o Jagdeesh R/o Rast Vinod Nagar, Delhi age 42 yrs has studied up to graduation. He works as a executive in private company. No previous involvement has been found against him.. Mohd Shahjad s/o Mohd Nayab R/o Mohalla Ahmad Nagar, PS Kotwali Amroha, District Amroha Uttar Pradesh age 32 yrs has studied up to 12th class. He has no work to earn his livelihoods. No previous involvement has been found against him., Sunit Kumar Sinha s/o Lt Nirmal Kishore Sinha R/o Molarband Extension, Badarpur Delhi age 37 yrs has studied up to 10th class. He has no work to earn his livelihoods. No previous involvement has been found against him
