When apprehended by the special cell, a total of 1.5 kg of RDX was recovered from the terrorists. Sources said that this amount of RDX was enough to wreak havoc on a large scale. On September 18, Osama's uncle Humaid-ur-Rehman surrendered to the Uttar Pradesh police in Prayagraj. It is alleged that Rahman was coordinating the entire terrorist network in India. These things came to light during the investigation

A senior police official with knowledge of the investigation had said that it was Humaid who had sent Osama and Zeeshan Kamar to Muscat, Oman to attend training in Pakistan. Once they reached Muscat, the ISI took them by sea to the port of Gwadar to train them in explosives making. Osama and Zeeshan were then trained to make bombs and IEDs and to set fires with the help of daily use items.
