TWO DAY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF UIET CONCLUDES

The second day of IC-MAME 2021 started with research presentations by the students on various topics of material sciences.

The conference went ahead with invited session by Technology Enabling Centre (TEC), UIET, PU, headed by Prof. Manu Sharma who explained about the goals and initiatives taken by TEC to maintain the region fountainhead of technological solutions for needs of the society and industry. He explained the endeavour of the organisation to assess the needs of the issues of academicians through assessment workshops. The participants were encouraged to register for the upcoming workshops through the official website.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar emphasized on building culture where academic institutions work closely with Industry. According to him, students should work within their institutions and collaborate with other institutions as well. He said that, Innovation is driven by strong basic research which culture should be brought among the young generation. Material is the key to basic research.

Prof, S. K. Tomar, Dean Research, Panjab University appraised the role of teachers in grooming the scientists and hence preparing young minds to take the country forward in all aspects. According to him, young scientists should be given liberty to explore their domain of interest, which should come from within the individual.

This was followed by the feedback session and announcement of winners by the organisers. Various winners of technical session were announced by the Guest of Honour. Best paper awards were presented to : Best Paper 1, author Amares Singh and Team from Malaysia; Best Paper 2 was awarded to Cephas Yaw Attahu and team from China; Best Paper 3 was awarded to Krishan Kumar Chauhan and team from India.
