ANTI NARCOTICS CELL OF POLICE NABBED ONE SMUGGLER WITH HEROIN WORTH RS. 33 CRORES

The sleuths belonging to Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Punjab police nabbed a Indian drug peddler and have recovered 6.730 Kg heroin worth Rs. 33 crores (approximate) following the information provided by him during the investigation. The accused has been identified as Didar Singh (50) son of Kashmir Singh, a resident of Village Naurang ke Siyal in Sadar area.

Harmandeep Singh Hans, SSP who recently assumed charge as SSP while addressing the media persons said that following the inputs, the accused was nabbed by the sleuths belonging to ANC on yesterday night from near canal colony area on Ferozepur-Fazilka Road. “During his frisking the police recovered 120 gram heroin from him following which he was booked under NDPS Act at Sadar police station (FIR No. 170 dated 14.10.2021).

The SSP said that during the investigation it came to fore that the accused is involved in the illegal trading of drugs.

“As per the information provided by the accused the police carried out a joint operation with the sleuths belonging to 116 Battalion of BSF during which, 6.610 Kg heroin was recovered near BOP Tappu (near border pillar number 177/10 from the fields situated along the fencing”, said SSP.
