DELHI POLICE FIRST BADMINTON “ESPRIT DE CORPS” CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDED

Delhi Police first Badminton “esprit de corps” Championship – 2021 held at K.D. Jadhav Indoor Halls, IGI Stadium Complex, N Delhi, from 29.10.2021 to 31.10.2021 concluded today. Shri Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi was the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion the Commissioner Police, Delhi thanked all the participants who took part in the tournament and made it a huge success. The number of participants i.e. 466 reflects the zeal & enthusiasm of the police personnel for the tournament. He congratulated all the winners and even those who did not win medals, but spiritedly took part in the championship.

He said that this Badminton tournament is just a beginning and more such competitive tournaments for other sports too would be organized in future. The CP, Delhi underlined that sports generate team spirit, coordination and discipline. Sportspersons are naturally self-disciplined, which helps in building overall personality.

Shri Robin Hibu, Spl. CP/AP read out a report card on the conclusion of tournament. As many as 466 players from Delhi Police, CAPFs & SAPFs took part in this 3-day tournament, while 416 matches were played to decide the winners across all categories. The officers/personnel from the rank of Constable to Spl. CP took part in the tournament. He thanked CP, Delhi for the motivation and support and presented a memento and traditional shawl to mark the occasion.

He also complimented Spl. CP Shri Robin Hibu and his team for organizing a successful tournament, which was a herculean task in itself as more than 400 matches were held smoothly without any interruption. He further thanked all the stakeholders, coaches & ground staff for their valuable contribution.

Shri Robin Hibu, Spl. CP/AP read out a report card on the conclusion of tournament. As many as 466 players from Delhi Police, CAPFs & SAPFs took part in this 3-day tournament, while 416 matches were played to decide the winners across all categories. CP, Delhi gave away trophies to the winners and runners up. The winners include Sh. Robin Hibu (Men Doubles & Mixed Doubles in GOs 45+ Category), Ms. Priyanka Kashyap, DCP/East Dist (Women Singles in GOs), Sh. Sameer Sharma, DCP/I Bn (Mixed Doubles in GOs), Ms. Varsha Sharma, DCP/Vig (Mixed Doubles in GOs 45+), Sh. Surinder Beniwal, Asst. Commandant/CRPF (Runners up in Men Doubles GOs), Sh. Narendra Yadav, 2 I/C BSF (Men Singles in GOs), ACP Virender Kadyan (Runners up in Men Singles GOs 45+) and W/Insp. Jaswinder Kaur (Runners up in Women Singles 45+).

CP, Delhi formally declared the conclusion of 1st Delhi Police Badminton “esprit de corps” Championship.

Senior officers including Spl CsP Sh. Robin Hibu (Armed Police), Ms. S. Sundari Nanda (HRD), Sh. Sanjay Baniwal (Perception Management & Media Cell), Sh. Sanjay Singh (Lic. & Legal Division), Sh. Dependra Pathak (Law & Order Div. Zone - I), Ms. Nuzhat Hassan (Vigilance & PT Safety Div.), Sh. Satish Golchha (Law & Order Div. Zone - II), Sh. Rajesh Khurana (Intelligence), Sh. Devesh Shrivastava (Crime), Sh. David Lalrinsanga (Prov. & Fin. Div.) & Sh. Indra Dev Shukla (Protective Security Div.), Jt CsP & DCsP were present on this occasion.
