HARYANA SCHOOL EDUCATION PROJECT COUNCIL'S TRAINING FOR SCHOOL GIRLS IN SHASTRANG INDIAN MODERN MARTIAL ARTS FROM NOV 8

Shastrang Indian Modern Martial Arts, Sector 16, Panchkula will start self defense training programme from November 8 for the school girls of Haryana. Due to Covid epidemic, the incidence of mental stress and fear has increased. Haryana School Education Project Council has initiated the training programme for the girls to overcome the fear and master the methods of self-defense. This initiative is called Rani Laxmibai Self Defense Training Program. 

The trainers will teach self-defense tricks. In a group there would be 30 to 35 girl students. Shasrang Grandmaster Bikram S Thapa informed that through self-defense training, the girls of class VI to XII will be made psychologically, intellectually and physically strong. To teach Karate, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Boxing, Gikundo etc., schools or academies can contact Bikram Thapa through 99888-74789 number. 

The districts given to Shastrang Indian Modern Martial Art for training include Hisar, Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi-Dadri, Kurukshetra, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Panchkula, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak, Sonepat & Yamunanagar. 

The training will be started by the Council in 1084 Elementary and 2963 Senior Secondary Schools in Haryana. The trainee girls will be able to protect themselves using their pen, book or bag etc to counter any situation of sudden danger or attack. The council raised tenders and invitied three agencies for the training from Panchkula, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. The training program will continue from November 2021 to February 2022.

The self-defense training, which has been running since the year 2012-13, has been renamed as Lakshmibai Self-Defense Training Program this time. Council has given the responsibility of training to three private firms including Shastrang Indian Modern Martial Art Panchkula. 

He said that the meaning of Shastrang is "to turn your body into a weapon". The word is derived from Sanskrit, where 'shastra' means 'weapon' and 'ang' means 'body'. In this it is taught that how to use your body as a weapon for self-defense in adverse situations.
