Punjab State Senior Men’s Team for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 played their second Inter-State match for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 against Maharashtra at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow-U.P

Maharashtra won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first Punjab Cricket Association scored 137 runs for loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Shubman Gill scored 44 runs off 39 balls with three boundaries and one six, Gurkeerat Mann scored 41 runs off 32 balls with two boundaries and two sixes and Sanvir Singh made 28 runs off 18 balls with two sixes for Punjab. A.Palkar took 2 wickets for 30 runs and D.M Hinganekar took 2 wickets for 17 runs for Maharashtra.

Replying Punjab team achieved the target of 107 runs for losing just 2 wickets in 12.5 overs. Abhishek Sharma unbeaten 54* runs off 33 balls with five boundaries and two sixes and Gurkeerat Mann unbeaten 24* runs off 20 balls with two boundaries were the main run getters for PCA. Sagar V Trivedi and Bharat Bhushan Sharma both took one wicket each were the most successful wicket takers for Cricket Association of Pondicherry.

Replying, Maharashtra achieved the target of 138 runs for loss of 3 wickets in 17.3 overs. Skipper R.D Gaikwad scored 80 runs off 54 balls with eight boundaries and three sixes, A.N Kazi scored 28 runs off 26 balls with two boundaries and N.S Shaikh made 23 runs off 23 balls with one boundary were the main run getters for Maharashtra. Sanvir Singh claimed 1 wicket giving away 20 runs , Abhishek sharma also claimed 1 wicket for 13 runs and Siddharth kaul also took 1 wicket for 24 runs for Punjab CA.
