WOMEN’S SENIOR ONE DAY TROPHY 2021-22

Punjab State Women’s Senior One Day Team played their fifth Inter-State match for Women’s Senior One Day Trophy 2021-22 against Rajasthan Cricket Association at Alur Cricket Stadium, Bangalore today, in which they beat the opponents Rajasthan by 2 wickets to qualify for the knockout stage .

Earlier in the day Punjab won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first Rajasthan team were able to score 194 runs for loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Skipper Jasia Akhtar scored 84 runs off 119 balls with six boundaries and Prajakta S scored 52 runs off 67 balls with five boundaries for Rajasthan. For Punjab Neelam Bisth claimed 4 wickets for 44 runs and Kanika Ahuja took 2 wickets for 47 runs.

Replying PCA Senior women played a remarkable innings and achieved the target of 195 runs losing 8 wickets in just 20 overs. Kanika Ahuja scored 90 runs off 88 balls with seven boundaries and one six and Mehak Kesar scored 24 runs off 46 balls. R.G Tak took 2 wickets for 23 runs Rajasthan.

Punjab got 4 important points from this victory and qualified for the knock out stage .

NEXT MATCH Pre Quarter Final 3, Women’s Senior One Day Trophy will be between Punjab v Goa on 13 November 2021, 09:00 IST, to be played at Alur Cricket Stadium III, Bangalore
