Addressing the journalists at Press Club Chandigarh today, State President of Federation of Private Schools Association and National President of NISA, Kulbhushan Sharma said that State Government and Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij had waived one-year property tax to private schools and have, provided them life.

He has demanded from the State Government and Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij that the schools which have deposited property tax should also get relief and the amount deposited by them should be adjusted in the next year as advance tax.

Kulbhushan Sharma said that a meeting of the Federation with Education Department was held today, in which the pending 25-points demands of private schools were discussed and it was demanded from the government that they should resolve the discussed issues as early as possible so, that the schools which were ruined due to pandemic circumstances can be saved.

He said, in the meeting he has discussed the one-year extension to temporary recognized schools, early release of the list of existing schools, issue of UDISE number to unrecognized schools, the announcement by the government to waive electricity bills of schools, to return the pledge money to the schools, to extend the life of the school buses by two years, to waive the fine by starting the school renewal portal, implementation of uniform rules on schools in rural and urban areas, upgrading permanently recognized schools by increasing rooms without land condition by next year, implementing uniform scholarship scheme for students of government and private schools, the fitness of buses.

Issues were raised to keep the bus fitness passing centre at the district level itself. He said that the talks with the officials were positive and it is likely to yield good results soon.

He also demanded to start playway schools soon so, that the foundation of education can be strengthened.On the admissions of 134a, he said that for 5 years, schools have not received compensation for the students taught under 134a, the government should honestly pay this to private schools, otherwise private schools should not be pressurized to register children under 134-A unnecessarily.

He also demanded that the government should pay the amount due of private schools, whose students have been admitted in government schools without SLC so, that the schools and parents can get relief and the SLC dispute can also end.
