CBI REGISTERS ONE MORE CASE ON THE ORDERS OF CALCUTTA HIGH COURT RELATED TO VIOLENCE & OTHER OFFENCES IN WEST BENGAL

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case in compliance of the orders of Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta, passed in connection with WPA (P) 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149 & 169 of 2021, dated 19.08.2021 on a complaint.

It was alleged that the accused attempted to rape the victim. It was further alleged that the complainant was returning home alongwith her friend from her relative’s house at Kandi, Mrushidabad when few youths intercepted the complainant & her friend. It was also alleged that youths raped her friend, and one youth attempted to rape the complainant. The victim in the present case had allegedly complained about the incident to local Police, but no case was registered. As such, a fresh case has been registered by CBI.

It may be stated that CBI had earlier registered a separate case on 25.08.2021, taking over the investigation of the case earlier registered at Police Station Nabagram, District Murshidabad vide FIR No. 114/2021 dated 10.05.2021 against three accused on the allegations of gang rape of the friend of the complainant in this case.

CBI has so far registered 45 cases related to violence & other offences in West Bengal.
