To bring awareness ahead of Swachhta Survey, to be conducted next year across the country, a rally was taken out in the city on the instructions of Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhijit Kaplish.

The event was organised in collaboration with the Training Centre run under the Punjab Skill Development Mission. The rally started from Nehru Park and passed through the main markets to disperse in the MC complex.

The students of Royal Group of Institute and GDM Institute under the leadership of Sanitary Inspectors Jaswinder Singh and Kartar Singh and Meenakshi Gupta Manager Skill Development sensitized the people.

In-charge of cleanliness campaign Gurinderjit Singh and Pradeep Kumar said that during the rally, an appeal was made to the shopkeepers not to throw garbage on the roads and keep wet and dry garbage separately and dispose of the same in the vehicles arranged by the MC to collect the garbage.

Apart from this, an appeal has also been made to the common people not to throw the garbage of their homes and shops in empty plots at all. The aim is that his Abohar city should also illuminate its name by getting a better place in the coming Swachhta Survey.
